Business tycoon Dennis Uy appointed as special envoy to Korea

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has named Davao-based business tycoon Dennis Anthony Uy as Special Envoy of the President to Korea for Digital Transformation.

His appointment was bared by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Friday, July 21.

Uy is the founder and chief executive office (CEO) of Converge ICT Solutions Inc.

He is also the founder and chairman of Udenna Corp., a conglomerate which has stakes in businesses like petroleum, oil and gas, shipping, logistics, real estate, education and gaming.

In addition, Uy previously served as the former chairman of the transport and logistics company 2GO.

In 2022, he landed in the list of the World's Billionaires by Forbes, ranking 2,578 in the world and 13th in the Philippines.

Aside from Uy, Marcos appointed Francisco Gabirel Remulla as member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan - Cavite while Janice Castellano as Director II of Information and Communications Technology.
