A police intelligence officer was shot dead, while a female homeowners’ association member was wounded at a shooting incident during a caucus meeting in Guiguinto, Bulacan, on Sunday night, March 8.
The victim was identified as PMSG Jesus Uring, a member of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit, who sustained a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Initial investigation showed that Uring had just attended a homeowners’ association caucus meeting related to an upcoming election.
Authorities said that as attendees were leaving the covered court where the gathering was held, a man wearing a face mask, gray T-shirt, and light-colored pants suddenly approached the officer and shot him in the head before quickly fleeing the scene.
While escaping, the suspect was reportedly pelted with chairs by people at the venue and fired another shot, hitting a homeowners' association member in the knee. The victim was rushed to the hospital and is currently recovering.
