A bomb exploded inside the Magnificat Transport Cooperative in Brgy. Bugaan East, Laurel, Batangas on Sunday, September 10, but no casualties was reported.
Based on the initial report of the Batangas Police Provincial Office, a bomb was threw and exploded inside the bus terminal at around 3:50 in the morning.
Albert Serrano, the Magnificat Transport Cooperative's guard who heard the loud explosion, reported the incident to the Batangas Police Provincial Office.
"Nagtamo ng minor damage ang siyam (9) na bus na nakaparada sa nasabing terminal," the Batangas Police Provincial Office said.
There were no reproted injuries or casualtie due to the bomb explosion, it added.
The Batangas Police Provincial Office said it is closely coordinating with Magnificat Transport Cooperative for additional information, and with the local government of Laurel for the swift investigation and the arrest of the suspect behind the incident.
Batangas Police Provincial Office Provincial Director Police Colonel Samson Belmonte said they would not tolerate this kind of act that consequently caused the peace disruption in the area.
"Sisiguraduhin po natin makikilala at mahuhuli natin ang mga taong may kagagawan nito," he added.
Meanwhile, interviewed by Calamba News and Public Affairs, Police Chief Franciso Lucena said they are backtracking the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in the terminal to identify the perpetuators.
"Hindi naman siya [Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan] election-related, walang connection ito. Makikita naman natin after matapos natin ang imbestigation," Lucena said when asked about the possible motives of the suspects.
