

Four rice importers in the raided warehouse in Bulacan have faced charges of he agricultural smuggling, said the Bureau of Customs on Saturday.
According to the acting director of BOC Legal Service, William Balayo and his anti-smuggling team have filed three cases of economic sabotage.
During the Saturday News Forum in Quezon City, Balayo said that they cannot name the suspects, but they are delighted that they have filed cases against the three raided warehouses on August 24.
Meanwhile, there is another case of agriculture smuggling, but it did not reach the P10 million threshold, so only a violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act was filed.
According to Commission Bienvenido Rubio’s Chief of Staff, Marlon Agaceta, there are pending letters of authority against four warehouses involved in rice importation.
