The Bureau of Customs seized illegal drugs worth P2.48 million at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) in Pasay City on Monday.
In its report, the bureau said that three parcels were confiscated at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC), Pair Cargo, and DHL Warehouse on February 1, carrying 1.020 kg of ecstasy and 106.46 grams of shabu.
It was also stated that the contraband was concealed in parcels containing six plastic pouches of candies and one tetrahydrocannabinol-containing vape cartridge (THC).
The BOC noted that the parcels came from the United States, France, and Pakistan. They were delivered to recipients in Negros Occidental, Makati City, and Camarines Sur.
Further investigations are being conducted to apprehend those responsible for the drug smuggling attempt for possible violations of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Republic Act 10863, and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
The contraband was turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency by authorized personnel for proper disposition.
