The Bureau of Customs (BuCor) reported on Wednesday that it has achieved another significant milestone as it logged ₱7.510 billion in revenue collection on April 28.
In a statement, BOC said the April 28 record is ₱1.436 billion or 23.64 percent higher from the previous highest-daily record of ₱6.074 in October 14 last year.
"The BOC’s remarkable performance can be attributed to its continuous efforts to implement proper valuation which resulted in a notable increase in revenue collection," it noted.
The agency stated the milestone reflects its "commitment to achieve its revenue targets", and also accentuates its role in " promoting economic growth and development in the country."
"BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the agency’s employees and stakeholders for their dedication and hard work that led to this remarkable achievement," the BOC said.
Meanwhile, the agency also reported that it exceeded its revenue collection target in April with ₱68.274 billion.
BOC said in the first four months of 2023, it now recorded ₱281.902 billion which surpasses the original target collection of ₱265.220 billion.
