A fire broke out in the residential area of Barangay 128, Smokey Mountain, along Honorio Lopez Boulevard in Tondo, Manila on Monday morning, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
In a report by RH Boy Gonzales, the blaze started shortly before 9:00 AM and was initially placed under the first alarm. However, it quickly escalated to a second alarm as flames rapidly spread through the tightly packed houses made of light materials.
Firefighters faced difficulties accessing the area due to the narrow pathways leading up to Smokey Mountain. To contain the fire, they had to connect fire hoses and work around the limited access.
