Blackpink’s Jisoo is back in the music scene, as news about her inking a global solo deal with Warner Records, ahead of the release of her first solo album, was announced early Wednesday.
In a statement, Jisoo gushed over her excitement about the continuation of her musical journey with the record label.
“I’m excited about this new era and the continuation of my musical journey,” Jisoo expressed.
“I feel like I’m just getting started and I’d like to thank the BLINKs for all of their love and support. This is just the beginning and I’m thrilled to kick off this seismic moment with Warner Records,” she added.
Looks like Blinks will finally get to hear what the K-pop idol has in store for them this February.
Before news about her signing a deal with Warner Records was announced, Jisoo uploaded the schedule in anticipation of the release of her album, “Amortage,” on Sunday, January 26. The schedule indicated that the album title poster will be released on January 31, while other details about the album, such as album covers, the concept poster, the tracklist, and the music video teaser will be released at a later date.
“Amortage” is a fusion of the words “amor” and “montage” which lean into the emotional stages of love and relationships.
Jisoo’s album, as a culmination of love, will drop on February 14, just in time for Valentine’s Day and a “special event.”

In celebration of sealing a deal with the record label, Warner Records CEO and Co-Chairman Aaron Bay-Schuck stated that he is thrilled to join forces with the K-pop star, citing the energy, passion, and artistry she brings.
“There is no question that Jisoo is one of the biggest stars in the world, and we have no doubt that her solo career will be even more impactful. The energy, passion, and artistry Jisoo brings to her music is on another level,” he said.
Jisoo is the last of the Blackpink members to sign with a record label, following their split with the South Korean agency, YG Entertainment in 2023, for solo deals. Despite signing different labels for their solo careers, the members extended their contract with YG Entertainment for group activities the same year.

Before terminating their solo contracts with YG Entertainment, Jisoo released a single bundle titled “Me.” The bundle includes songs like “Flower” and “All Eyes on Me,” which accumulated over 600 million streams on Spotify.
Aside from releasing her first album, the K-pop idol is set to star in the upcoming Prime Korean Drama series, “Newtopia,” alongside Park Jeong Min. The series will drop on February 7.
