BLACKPINK is confirmed to join the roster of K-pop comebacks in August.

On Wednesday, their agency, YG Entertainment announced that the top girl group will be releasing a new track next month, which they called "BLACKPINK-style music."

"BLACKPINK is now at the final stage of recording its new album. They will embark on the filming of a music video within this month and release new songs in August," YGE said in its press release.

It did not further disclose any other details of the group's upcoming album, which marks BLACKPINK's first project as a group in one year and ten months.

In the same statement, the agency also announced that the group will embark on a world tour.

"In order for BLACKPINK to expand their connection with global fans, they plan to set out for a world tour, which will be the largest in scale among all K-pop girl groups. Further, we will consistently continue to hold big projects in synchronization with the [large-scale world tour]," YGE stated.

The four-member girl group — composed of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa — last release was in October 2020 with the band’s first full-length album “The Album,” including the main single “Lovesick Girls” and “How You Like That,” a pre-released song.

In 2021, members Rosé and Lisa successfully debut as soloists with their albums "R" and "Lalisa," respectively.
