Jisoo of the K-pop supergroup BLACKPINK has tested positive for COVID-19 thus prompting her to sit out from her group's upcoming Japan shows.

On Thursday, YG Entertainment announced through BLACKPINK's Weverse, a fan community for artists, that Jisoo had experienced mild cold symptoms on May 30.

Although she initially tested negative in a self-diagnosis kit, she subsequently tested positive on June 1.

"JISOO was determined to perform, wanting to keep her promise with BLACKPINK fans who have been waiting for a long time, but decided not to participate in the concert for the artist’s health and the safety of all," the statement read.

Following this, only Jennie, Rose, and Lisa will be participating in the upcoming [BORN PINK] world tour scheduled in Osaka, Japan, on June 3 and 4.

"We will put our utmost effort for JISOO's speedy recovery as well as the health and safety of our artists. We apologize and ask for your understanding once again," the label stated.

Get well soon, Jisoo!
