As confirmed by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, is set to be transferred this week to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, following a commitment order issued by the Pasig City RTC Branch 167.
According to BJMP Spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera, the court denied Guo’s request to remain at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory. However, he declined to disclose the exact date and time of the transfer for security reasons.
In line with protocol, Guo will undergo standard medical procedures before being turned over to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Guo, also identified as Chinese national Guo Hua Ping, was convicted of qualified human trafficking linked to the large POGO hub raided in Bamban, Tarlac, where hundreds of victims were rescued. She was sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to pay multi-million-peso fines. The court also ordered the forfeiture of the POGO-related Baofu compound to the government.
Upon arrival at CIW, Guo will be placed at the Reception and Diagnostic Center for quarantine and evaluation before being assigned to a regular dormitory after the assessment period.
Her legal team has announced plans to appeal the court’s decision.
