The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Monday, October 9, vowed to assist in the repatriation of Filipinos from Israel.
In a statement, BI assured that the agency coordinates with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on schedules of possible repatriations.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that the agency will deploy special team that will 'expeditiously process' the documents of repatriated Filipinos and their families.
"Should they come in special flights, we will have a dedicated team process their documents immediately upon arrival,” Tansingco said.
"The BI will do what it can to extend assistance to agencies involved in repatriation of Filipinos,” he added.
However, Tansingco said that no schedules for repatriation have been coordinated with them yet, and the agency waits for updates from the DFA as well as the DMW.
“The safety of our kababayans is a top priority for the government,” assured the Immigration chief.
