Following the lead of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Bureau of Immigration will also stop issuing working visas to workers of Philippine offshore gaming operators.
DOLE - National Capital Region announced that the agency will no longer accept applications for alien employment permits for employees of companies identified as POGOs
The said policy took effect on May 2.
Iyon ang basehan natin ng length nung kanilang working visa," BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said on Tuesday, May 7, during DZRH's Magandang Umaga Pilipinas.
Sandoval said that the directive of DOLE could affect not only those applying for alien employment permits but also POGO workers seeking to extend their stay in the Philippines.
