The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it has no record or information confirming that gaming tycoon Charlie "Atong" Ang is in Cambodia, contrary to circulating reports.
In an interview with DZRH News, BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said the agency has not received any official update regarding Ang’s reported whereabouts. She stressed that based on BI records from monitored international ports of entry and exit, Ang has not traveled abroad.
The BI, however, did not rule out the possibility that Ang may have left the country through undocumented or “backdoor” routes. Earlier, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said he received information suggesting that Ang could be hiding in Cambodia or Thailand.
Police have conducted nearly 10 operations in the past week to locate the fugitive businessman, but have so far failed to find him. Like the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) remains confident that the alleged mastermind in the missing sabungeros case has not yet left the country.
