The Bureau of Immigration (BI) recorded a total of 31,992 inbound passengers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last Dec. 24, Christmas Eve.
In a press statement on Monday, BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said NAIA terminal 1 welcomed 10,047 passengers, terminal 2 with 4,646, and terminal 3 with 12,615 travelers.
As per departure, Immigration processed a total of 22,248 outbound passengers.
Tansingco said passengers were immediately accommodated despite the long lines due to the worldwide increase in international travel.
"All counters are fully manned, our e-gates are being utilized, and we have a special team of officers ready to augment manpower as needed," he assured.
“The implementation of the eTravel system also significantly decreases the paper requirements of arriving passengers," the BI chief added.
