All local and international passengers departing from and arriving in the country will be required to use the electronic travel system starting on Saturday, April 15, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has announced.
The BI also posted guidelines on using the newly launched system for “integrated border control, health surveillance, and economic data analysis.”
Based on the guidelines, passengers arriving and departing in the Philippines must register on the online platform three days or 78 hours before their arrival time.
Those arriving passengers who fail to register may seek assistance from airline staff. While those departing passengers can still register before undergoing immigration inspection or fill out paper-based departure cards available in the area of Immigration.
“Already registered passengers may update their e-Travel status under the Edit Registration tab while crewmembers may update under the Registered Crew tab,” BI said.
The registration is free of charge, BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said.
According to the agency, any individual who claims that there is a registration fee can report this to Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) via https://cicc.gov.ph/report/.
