Bureau of Immigration (BI) chief Norman Tansingco assured the public that the agency will immediately respond to all inquiries and concerns as he ordered the introduction of redesigned manual feedback forms in all of its locations nationwide.
Tansingco stated in a news release issued on Saturday that enhancing the feedback process will allow the agency to handle all concerns and complaints about the office and its employees swiftly.
He published a memorandum at the same time, reiterating the existing policy on the proper wearing of nameplates and identification cards.
Tansingco was reacting to a social media post about a passenger who complained about the bureau's lack of accessible feedback channels as well as her trouble obtaining the names of the immigration officials she had interacted with.
He directed that all BI offices make feedback forms easily available and prominently displayed.
Employees should also wear their IDs and nameplates at all times for better identification, he suggested.
Tansingco also ordered all immigration supervisors at the country's ports to report any violations to his office, warning that failure to do so would result in harsh disciplinary punishment.
