The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Friday announced that a Taiwanese male wanted for fraud in Taipei, was arrested at Clark Freeport in Mabalacat, Pampanga last May 31.

In a statement, Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the fugitive was identified as Che Szu-Han, 26 years old who was arrested by operatives from the BI’s Search Unit (FSU) upon request from the Taiwanese authorities.

According to BI-FSU Acting Chief Rendel Ryan Sy, the Taipei District Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant of arrest to Che in July 2022.

Che is said to be accused of being a member of a criminal syndicate that steals money collected from fraud victims deposited in bogus bank accounts.

The Taiwanese fugitive will be deported once the Board of Commissioners will issue the summary of deportation, and will be placed on the blacklist and banned from re-entering the Philippines, Tangsingco said.

As of this writing, Chen is detained at the BI Warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City amid pending deportation proceedings.
