A Chinese national who tried to escape from arresting authorities was nabbed in BGC in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig on Monday night, March 4.
According to BGC management, the Chinese tried to flee using an SUV vehicle and exchanged gunshots with arresting officers.
"On March 4, 8:27 pm, reported gunshots were fired along 31st Street Bonifacio Global City, Taguig," the BGC said in a statement.
The suspect reportedly sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
PNP SWAT team, with no reported injuries, successfully arrested the suspect at 9 p.m.
"BGC is committed to maintain the safety of the community. We continue to work closely with PNP to investigate the cause of the incident and will be on heightened security to ensure the public safety," the BGC management noted.
The suspect is currently facing charges of unjust vexation, other forms of deception, and disobedience to authority.
