A 50-year-old bettor who played the lotto for about three decades hit the P107 million jackpot prize through a winning combination based on his relatives’ birthdates.
According to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), the lotto patron of nearly 28 years had doubts about winning but remained firm through his contributions to the agency’s charity fund that assists the less fortunate.
He bought the ticket from a lotto outlet in Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City.
The Quezon City resident said he was planning to invest his P107,506,074.20 winnings in business ventures and allot parts of it for savings.
PCSO said every winner must sign the back of the winning ticket, present two valid government IDs for verification purposes, and abide by the 20 percent tax on prizes that would exceed P10,000 under the TRAIN law.
