Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin shut down on Tuesday rumors of his resignation from the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., saying that it was fake news and part of black propaganda.
On Saturday, the Presidential Communications Office denied Bersamin's supposed resignation.
Bersamin was appointed Executive Secretary in September last year after his predecessor, Victor Rodriguez, resigned.
As an Executive Secretary, he is known as the "Little President," and his duties include "directly assisting the President in the management of government affairs, as well as directing the operations of the Executive Office," according to the Official Gazette.
Meanwhile, Bersamin was the chairperson of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) under Marcos' predecessor, former President Rodrigo Duterte, before being appointed Executive Secretary.
