

San Miguel Beer once again equalized the 2024 PBA Philippine Cup series.
The defending PBA Philippine Cup champions routed Meralco Bolts, 111-101, in Game Four of the best-of-seven finals series on Wednesday, June 12, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
In the same night that he received his 10th Best Player of the Conference award, Junemar Fajardo registered 28 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Beermen to their second win in the title series.
CJ Perez also scored 22 points and Marcio Lassiter finished with 18 points for San Miguel.
San Miguel set the tone for the match after back-to-back baskets by Fajardo brought the squad up by 14 points, 23-9, in the first quarter.
The Bolts caught up in the second period and lay-up by Raymond Almazan tied the score, 36-all, before charities by Perez allowed the Beermen to regain the lead, 38-36.
At the end of the first half, the Bolts trailed, 51-40.
Meralco attempted to make another comeback in the final quarter and cut the deficit, 88-85, but Fajardo and Perez brought the lead of San Miguel back to double digits, 108-97, with less than two minutes left in the clock.
Newsome tallied 40 points and Chris Banchero added 21 points for the Bolts.
San Miguel and Meralco will seek to break the 2-2 deadlock on Game Five on Friday, June 14, still at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
