

The tandem of former senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio topped the latest survey of Pulse Asia over the most preferred contenders for the presidential and vice-presidential in the upcoming 2022 national elections.
Some 53 percent of the respondents polled December 1-6 chose Marcos as their president, followed by his rival Vice President Leni Robredo with 20 percent.
They were followed by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso and Sen. Manny Pacquiao who both received 8 percent while Sen. Panfilo Lacson garnered 6 percent.
Meanwhile, Duterte-Carpio got 45 percent of respondents voting for her for the second-highest post in the country while 31 percent supported Senate President Vicente Sotto III Lacson's running mate.
Sen. Kiko Pangilinan placed third with the backing of 12 percent of respondents.
Trailing behind them were Senator Francis Pangilinan with 12 percent, Dr. Willing Ong with six percent, and House Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza with one percent.
According to Pulse Asia's website, Marcos bested other presidential aspirants in the National Capital Region (NCR) where he gained 61 percent of votes, followed by Balance Luzon with 51 percent, the Visayas with 42 percent, and Mindanao with 64 percent.
In comparison, Robredo garnered 14 percent in the NCR, 24 percent in Balance Luzon, 42 percent in the Visayas, and 10 percent in Mindanao.
The presidential daughter, meanwhile, led in National Capital Region with 45 percent and Mindanao with 82 percent.
