BBM's first 100 days: Imee says Marcos Jr. has 'no time to waste' if elected
by John Dexter Tilo23 April 2022

If elected, presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. (BBM) will waste no time in dealing with the crisis in his first 100 days as president of the Philippines, according to Senator Imee Marcos.

"The first 100 days are going to be critical and they'll have to be hitting the ground running, no time to waste," Imee told DZRH in an interview.

It comes as Marcos Jr. retains the majority's support in recent pre-election surveys, which Imee said reflects the public's expectation from the presidential bet.

"Alam din natin may expectations - sobrang taas ng expectations ng taongbayan na talagang magmimilagro, na may himala," said the senator.

(We know that there are expectations – there are high expectations from the public that there will be a miracle.)

"Napakadami nang krisis na hinaharap, napakataas ng pag-asa ng taongbayan."

(We are facing a lot of crises, the public’s hopes are so high.)

According to Imee, they are grateful for the public's support for the Marcos family, but they said they remain cautious and will keep on reaching out to various sectors until the end of the campaign season.

"Nagpapasalamat kami sa napakataas na survey ni Bongbong - pero at the same time, nananatili pa rin ang aming pangamba," she said.

(We are thankful that Bongbong remains high in the surveys – but at the same time, we still feel concerned.)

"Kasi unang-una, yung training ng tatay ko, talagang running scared sa lahat ng bagay. Kahit wala ka na ngang kalaban ay mangampanya pa rin araw-araw," she added, referring to her father Ferdinand Marcos, Sr.

(Because first of all, my father’s training is to always run scared of a lot of things. Even if you don’t have any enemies, you still need to campaign every day.)

"'Yung ama ko kasi naniniwala noon na anything can happen, kaya kinakailangan nakatututok kami."

(My father believes that anything can happen, which is why we are vigilant.)

Marcos Jr. recently led the latest pre-election survey of DZRH, where he was the preferred presidential candidate of 52.9% of the respondents.
