Regional Bazaar: Local products from different regions mark Aliwan fiesta’s first day

Starting Thursday, July 13, shoppers can buy local products from different regions along Vicente Sotto St., Pasay City, Manila as part of the 3-day cultural extravaganza of the biggest and grandest festival, Aliwan Fiesta.

Despite the rainy weather, vendors are still eager to sell and promote their products at the Regional Bazaar of Aliwan Fiesta.

Some of the products that are being sold are Piyaya of Bacolod, crocheted merchandise from Baguio, Ramit bags made by Mangyans and Agri-products of Mindoro, ethnic accessories from Samar, rag-made bags of Taytay Rizal, woven bags from Bicol and Davao, Cutlery, and handicrafts from Bicol, ‘Bagoong and dried fish of Vigan, Bataan’s Casio Nuts, Printed shirts made in Ilo-ilo, Sumaka (Suman, Mangga, Kasoy, Hamaka) of Antipolo, Kalamay of Batangas, Peanut butter of San Jose del Monte Bulacan, metal crafts from Pampanga, and other accessories made by different local artists from different regions.

Prices for some merchants are listed below (depending on the item’s size and design):

  • Woven bags: P200 to P500
  • Crochet: P50 to P12,000
  • Printed shirts-P300
  • Rag-made bags/tote bags: P200
  • Davao and Bicol-made bags: P350 to P500
  • Nito-made Baskets: P120 to P80
  • Pampanga metal craft: P800 to P6,000
  • Wooden Clock and other house displays: 1,800 to 5,000
  • Vigan Furniture: P20,000–P75,000
  • Keychain: P10 to P20
  • Wallet: 3 for P100

  • Peanut butter: P60 to P250
  • Suman: 3 for P100
  • Cashew nuts: P50 to P150
  • Piyaya: P50 to P100
  • Kalamay: 4 for P100
  • Puto Calaciao: P100
  • Garlic Chips:P50-P250
  • Cornic mixed peanuts: P90 to P180
  • Peanut: P100 to P190

People from different places don’t need to visit different parts of the country to taste delicacies and buy famous products because most of them were finally brought to Manila.

"Dati na kaming nagtitinda rito, masaya kami pagkatapos ng pandemic—ngayon nalang ulit," said one of the bazaar vendors.

Since 2003, Aliwan Fiesta has been active in welcoming localities to sell their products as a way to showcase the country’s diverse products and promote tourism.

Meanwhile, BENTE NAMAN JAM Pasakalye Concert will be on the same day, evening.
