Senator Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa on Tuesday, Nov. 28, bared his ill feelings toward Senator Risa Hontiveros for filing a Senate Resolution urging President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. to cooperate and assist the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the investigation into the war on drugs.

Dela Rosa bared his ill-feelings when asked by reporters in a Senate press briefing for his reaction to Hontiveros' Senate Resolution No. 86.

"Masama talaga [ang loob ko], masama talaga. I have to tell you frankly. Of all the people, siya talaga?" he said.

"Baka sabihin niya 'trabaho lang, walang personalan'. Sa akin, that's very personal. Kahit sabihin mo trabaho lang yan, it's very personal to me because I am one of the subjects na iimbestigahan [ng ICC]," the Senator added.

Dela Rosa served as the Philippine National Police chief when the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte launched the anti-narcotics campaign.

According to the ICC's data, an estimated total of 11,000 to 30,000 civilians was killed in anti-drug operations.

Dela Rosa stressed that cases in relation to the alleged crimes and human rights violations during the drug war should be filed before the Philippine local court and not the International institution.

"We have a criminal justice here in the Philippines. I-file nila kahit saang korte dito sa Pilipinas, file nila," he said.

"Alam kasi nila na ang kanilang ginagawa ay puro mga bula, alam nila na walang leg to stand on yung kanilang accusation. Alam nila na hindi i-entertain-in ng local courts kaya doon sila sa ICC, Kung malakas yung kaso nila, na-convict na yung mga pulis, nakulong na o na-dismiss na sa serbisyo," the Senator continued.

Shortly after the media interview, Hontiveros was seen talking to Dela Rosa in Senate plenary.

As of this posting, Hontiveros has yet to issue a response regarding Dela Rosa's statement.
