Batman once again proves that he has no limits, as he is about to be honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 26.
85 years after his introduction, DC Comics’s Dark Knight will be officially recognized as one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. He’ll be making history, as he is set to receive the 2,790th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His star was placed next to the original Batman actor, Adam West, and the character's co-creator, Bob Kane.
The ceremony will be held on September 26 at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum. The comic book character will be attending in person to receive the special recognition.
Aside from the Walk of Fame star, he will also receive a Guinness World Record as the first superhero to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. However, he is not the first fictional character to receive such recognition, as other known characters like Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, and The Simpsons have also been inducted in the past.
DC Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee and Senior Vice President/General Manager Anne DePies will be attending the event. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Committee first announced the news in 2019, before the global pandemic.
Batman is a fictional superhero character in DC Comics and is the alter-ego of Bruce Wayne, a wealthy American industrialist in Gotham City.
The crimefighter used the bat as a symbol to strike fear amongst the criminals. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any ‘superpowers’ and relies on his training and pieces of equipment to defeat his enemies.
