Davao City Mayor Sebastian 'Baste' Duterte has clarified that he apologized to Senator Imee Marcos out of pity for her following his resignation remarks to her brother, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

It can be recalled that Duterte asked the president to resign due to his "laziness" and "lack of compassion" for Filipinos during the prayer rally against Charter change in Davao City last week.

A few days later, the presidential sister told reporters in an interview that the Davao City mayor came to her to apologize.

Talaga naman mag rerebolusyon ang damdamin," Marcos said, referring to former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte.

The younger Duterte asked the senator to exclude him from her so-called "drama."

Meanwhile, in a statement posted on her official Facebook page, Marcos said she and the Davao City mayor had already talked to patch up the misunderstanding.
