Baron Geisler has spoken up about the recent reports about the drunken disturbance incident in Mandaue City in Cebu, taking a jab at the misinformation circulating online.
In a Facebook post on Monday, February 24, the actor stated that he is “breaking his silence” on the matter.
“There’s a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting. Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion,” Baron wrote, clarifying the incident.
“I want to make it clear—I’m okay, and I’m seeking legal advice to address this properly,” he added.
Information about Baron’s arrest circulated online after several media outlets reported that the actor was apprehended for causing a disturbance and throwing things at their place. The spokesperson for the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) stated it was the actor’s brothers-in-law who reported the latter to authorities.
Earlier reports mentioned that Baron was arrested on early Saturday, for violating the Mandaue City Ordinance No. 11-2008-434.
He was released a few hours later, paying a fine of P500.
“To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything,” Baron ended his statement.
