A barge carrier ran aground on the shores of Rosario, Cavite, amid the wrath of Tropical Storm Enteng in the country.
According to PAMALAKAYA, fisherfolks noticed the approaching barge in their area at around 9 AM today.
Fisherfolks promptly relocated their boats to safety out of fear that they might be struck by the approaching barge, which had become dislodged from its anchorage due to the strong waves. Residents in the area became concerned about the barge potentially drifting closer to their homes.
With this, fisherfolks have called on the authorities for immediate action and response to address the issue and prevent potential damage to homes in the area.
"Kasalukuyan na po tayong nakikipagtulungan sa Coast Guard at PNP upang tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng ating mga kababayan sa baybaying-dagat ng Rosario, Cavite kung saan sumadsad ang isang barge carrier ngayong umaga dahil sa masamang panahon dulot ng Bagyong Enteng,” Cavite 1st District Representative Jolo Revilla said in a statement almost two hours after the said incident.
In response to the incident, authorities have urged residents to temporarily evacuate their small boats and head to the Brgy. Wawa 2 evacuation center.
