The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) and Light Rail Manila Corporation announced on Wednesday that barefoot devotees attending the Traslacion on January 9 will be allowed to board the LRT lines.
In a social media announcement, the LRTA affirmed their solidarity with the observance of the Feast of Jesus Nazareno.
"Para sa Kapistahan ng Poong Nazareno, ang mga debotong nakayapak ay pinapayagang sumakay sa LRT-2," LRTA said.
However, the LRTA reiterated that the ‘No Inspection, No Entry’ policy will still be strictly enforced.
Similarly, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) issued the same announcement, accompanied by several reminders to ensure a safe and orderly ride for passengers.
"Pinahihintulutang makasakay sa tren ang mga deboto ng Poong Nazareno na nakayapak sa araw ng Traslacion," LRMC said in their Facebook post.
Moreover, the LRT-1 will adhere to its standard operating hours to deliver consistent service to passengers.
The LRMC also reminded devotees and other members of the traveling public to stay updated on the LRT-1 train schedule and to follow guidelines on the platform and inside the trains.
Devotees were advised to dress comfortably, ensure they are well-rested and nourished before traveling, and carry small bags for added safety.

The Traslacion is an annual procession featuring the 400-year-old image of Jesus Christ, traversing Manila’s streets before returning to the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno.
The procession will begin at the Quirino Grandstand, and from there, it will follow a route passing through various locations in the City of Manila.
