Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza’s mother and sister have taken to social media with cryptic messages as the internet was jarred by news of Forteza’s split with longtime boyfriend Jak Roberto, and these were not lost on keen-eyed fans.
On January 2, Forteza posted a carousel with pictures of herself and now-ex Roberto, to a quote from Dr. Seuss : “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened,” she wrote.
“Your love was exceptional,” the post read. “But sometimes, good things fall apart so better things can come together.”
“Beautiful goodbye, @jakroberto,” Forteza said.

To the intrigue of netizens, Forteza’s mother Imelda posted an Instagram story mere hours after the announcement, saying, “No one knows how much you went through this year but you stayed strong and didn’t quit.”
She crossed out “n’t” in “didn’t,” implying the person the post was meant for did, in fact, quit.
On the first of January, Forteza’s sister tweeted, “Gusto ko, happy ka (I want you to be happy),” with a picture of the star laughing. Forteza simply laughed in the comments in response.

The former couple were on their 7th year together. Roberto has yet to release a statement about the breakup.
