3,962 pass 2024 Bar Exams, UP student tops the list

The Supreme Court of the Philippines announced on Friday that 3,962 law students successfully passed the September 2024 Bar Examinations, earning their titles as new lawyers in the country.

SC Associate Justice and 2024 Bar Exam Chairman Mario Lopez reported that this year's passing rate is 37.84%, reflecting an improvement over last year’s rate.

Justice Lopez also noted that the Supreme Court (SC) en banc unanimously decided to set a passing grade of 74 for this year’s Bar Examinations.

Kyle Christian Tutor from the University of the Philippines emerged as the topnotcher, achieving a grade of 85.7700%.

The Bar Examinations for aspiring lawyers were held nationwide on September 8, 11, and 15.

To adapt to changes in legal education and the profession, this year’s exams were digitalized and regionalized.

A large screen at the SC grounds displayed the list of successful passers, as hopefuls and their families eagerly awaited the results.

The list of passers was published on the SC website and shared on the High Court’s social media accounts.
