Justice takes center stage once again!
"Bar Boys: A New Musical," based on the local film that chronicles the experiences of four friends in law school, will return to theaters from October 4 to November 3 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater in Circuit Makati.
"Join ERIK, CHRIS, TORRAN & JOSH as they journey to become lawyers — their dreams and even friendships are challenged by the demands of law school and the harsh realities of the world," Barefoot Theatre Collaborative said in a Facebook post on Saturday.
Barefoot Theatre Collaborative mentioned on one of their posts that lead stars Benedix Ramos, Alex Diaz, Jerom Canlas, Omar Uddin, and Sheila Francisco will be reprising their roles as Erik, Chris, Torranm Josh, and Justice Hernandez respectively.
The theatrical piece is an adaptation of the film by Kip Oebanda, originally produced for the 2017 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
The rerun will feature new cast members including Katrine Sunga as Female Professor, Chino Veguillas as Paping and the understudy for Atty. Maurice Carlson, and Jam Binay as part of the ensemble.
The cast will also include Ian Pangilinan as the alternate for Chris, Khalil Tambio covering Erik and Torran, Naths Everett as the understuday for Justice Hernandez, and Shaun Ocrisma as the cover for Atty. Victor Cruz.
Pat Valera, the author of the book and lyrics, will co-direct with Mikko Angeles. Furthermore, Myke Salomon, who created the adaptation’s original songs, will also be the musical director, with Jomelle Era returning for movement direction.
