K-pop boy group TREASURE will now continue as a 10-member group following the departure of Bang Yedam and Mashisho, their agency YG Entertainment announced on Tuesday.
In a statement via WeVerse platform, YG said that after “long and careful discussion,” they have agreed to officially terminate the contracts of Bang Ye-dam and Mashiho.
"We have reached such [an] agreement so that Mashiho could have enough time to recover from his health condition, and Bang Ye-dam could pursue his career as [a] producer," the agency explained.
The two have been on hiatus from group activities since May of this year.
"Going forward, Treasure transforms into a 10-member group — consisting of Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeongwoo and So Junghwan," YG Entertainment said.
And while it is saddened by the departure of the two, the agency appealed to fans to continuously support Mashiho and Yedam in their future endeavors.
Mashiho and Yedam last participated in the extended play (EP) "The Second Step: Chapter One" in February. They were absent from its follow-up EP released last October.
TREASURE first visited the country in July for the 2022 K-pop Masterz in Manila.
