The Marcos administration is set to hold the “Bagong Pilipinas” kick-off rally at the Quirino Grandstand today, January 28.
The "Bagong Pilipinas" kick-off, according to the Presidential Communications Office, will feature a Serbisyo Fair wherein services from government departments can be availed.
Among the services offered are national identification card registration, issuance of National Bureau of Investigation clearance, police clearance, and many more.
Various Filipino artists have been invited to perform at the said event, including Andrew E., Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, Rita Daniela, Aegis, Ronnie Liang, Agsunta, Skusta Clee, Ken Chan, Geneva Cruz, Florante, Plethora, 4th Impact, Poppert Bernadas, Julia Serad, and Princess.
The "Bagong Pilipinas" kick-off is expected to commence at 6 PM, and this will be led by President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has reminded motorists to plan their trip as several streets in Manila were temporarily closed for the said event.
Meanwhile, a candlelight prayer rally will commence in Rizal Park, Davao City at 6 PM, coinciding with the "Bagong Pilipinas" kick-off.
The candlelight prayer rally seeks to oppose the People's Initiative to amend the Philippine 1987 Consitution.
According to RH 19 Jun Dimacutac's report, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spearheaded a leaders forum in the Grand Menseng Hotel before proceeding to the candlelight prayer rally.
Davao 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte and other congressmen were reportedly present in the leaders forum.
As per Dimacutac, Vice President Sara Duterte is expected to attend his father's event.
