The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) drug enforcement teams seized PHP8.95 million worth of shabu during various operations in March, according to a report released on Tuesday.
During the month-long operation, 72 drug suspects were apprehended, including 63 street-level suspects, seven high-value suspects, and two newly identified suspects.
In 64 police operations, a total of 1,316.388 grams of the prohibited substance, valued at PHP 6,800 per gram, were recovered.
Police charged the suspects with violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
On March 29, the City Drug Enforcement Unit seized PHP3.44 million in shabu from a suspected drug courier during a buy-bust in Purok Kapawa, Barangay Tangub.
Sean Navarro, 26, of Purok Kasilingan, Barangay Mansilingan, was arrested as a newly identified drug personality but is considered high-value due to the large number of illegal drugs (506 grams) seized from his possession.
