The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) drug enforcement teams have confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP 2.27 million and detained 57 drug personalities in April, according to data released on Thursday.

From April 1 to 30, 334.5279 grams of the banned narcotic were found, with a standard drug price of PHP 6,800 per gram.

Acting municipal director Col. Noel Aliño praised the operating units for their accomplishments and ongoing efforts to minimize crime.

The BCPO conducted 50 anti-illegal drug operations last month, resulting in the arrest of 57 drug personalities, seven of whom were high-value individuals, five of whom were newly identified individuals, and 45 of whom were street-level individuals.

According to the newspaper, 61 complaints have been filed against the suspects in court for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

During a buy-bust at Purok Cheriza, Barangay 27, on April 28, agents from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) detained two suspects and recovered 70 grams of shabu for PHP 476,000.

A day earlier, Jade Babaran, 48, and his son Janelle Clyde, 27, were caught at Purok Greenfield, Barangay Tangub, along with the latter's minor girlfriend, resulting in the recovery of 55 grams of shabu worth PHP 374,000.

On April 20, John Millan Lucasan, 59, a high-value individual named as a priority target, produced around 115 grams of shabu valued at PHP782,000 during a sting operation conducted by CDEU agents in Purok Oraro, Barangay 4.
