The Philippine National Police (PNP) - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has seized several firearms and ammunition during its simultaneous raid on the sugar mill corporation owned by former Negros Oriental governor Henry Pryde Teves in Barangay Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental, PNP spokesperson Jean Fajardo confirmed on Friday.
In a video statement, Fajardo said a search warrant was presented before the raid to the HDJ Bayawan Agri-Venture Corp.
"Meron tayong informante na lumapit sa PNP na nagsasabi na ito pong compound na ito, dito po itinatago at meron pong pag-iingat ng high powered firearms na makikita po sa loob ng HDJ compound," she said when asked on the basis of the search warrant.

Several individuals were arrested during the raid for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act and they will undergo inquest proceedings, Fajardo said.
She said Teves would also face possible charges since he was the registered president of HDJ Bayawan Agri-Venture Corp.
"Maliban kay Henry Pryde Teves ay may ilan pa pong mga directors at officers nitong coporation sa subject ng search warrant," Fajardo added.
Henry Pryde Teves is the brother of Arnolfo 'Arnie' Teves who is being tagged as the mastermind behind the brutal murder of former Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo.
The PNP spokesperson said the police have yet to determine if the confiscated firearms are connected with Degamo's slay case.
