Former President Rodrigo Duterte was not allowed to see his personal lawyers and physician upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Tuesday, March 11, former Executive Secretary Atty. Vic Rodriguez said.
During the Operation Tulong exclusive, Rodriguez mentioned the former president had been taken to an unknown place.
“Nagkakagulo nga dito sa Terminal 3 dahil apparently he was taken to a place that nobody knows where,” Rodriguez said during the exclusive interview.
He added that he and Duterte’s lawyers were not permitted to see the latter. Rodriguez mentioned that he would be leaving the airport terminal to find Duterte. However, his exact whereabouts remain unclear. Rodriguez emphasized that they could only guess since even his personal lawyers were not permitted to approach Duterte.
Moreover, Rodriguez stated that Duterte’s lawyers asked a reason be provided for the former president’s arrest.
“Walang maipakitang warrant. That was the first thing the lawyers demanded, to show on what threat he is being detained or taken away. Walang maipakita. Kailangang malaman ng sambayanang Pilipino itong sitwsyong ito,” he clarified.
“Punong-puno ng pagtatago, ng pagtatakip. Walang nakakaalam. Salat ang sambayanang Pilipino sa infomation,” he added.
For now, Rodriguez mentioned Duterte may be taken to Camp Crame or the Villamor Airbase.
“We’re trying to look for [former] President Duterte, wala pang malinaw [na location]. We’re also gathering much information,” he said.
“As soon as meron, iimpormahan namin kayo and ang sambayanang Pilipino. Importanteng malaman ng sambayanang Pilipino ang nangyayari ngayon sa ating bansa,” he added.
“Ipagdasal natin si [dating] Pangulong Duterte, ang kanyang kaligtasan, ang sambayanan Pilipino, ipag-dasal natin ang ating bansa,” he said in closing.
