Businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang surrendered five of his firearms to authorities on Tuesday, following the revocation of his firearms license by the Philippine National Police’s Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP-FEO), as reported by RH Boy Gonzales.
According to PNP reports, the surrendered firearms include three pistols, one rifle, and one revolver.
Through his legal counsel, Atty. Gabriel Villareal, Ang handed over the firearms to the Mandaluyong City Police Station.
“In faithful compliance with the foregoing directives, and without prejudice to any remedies available to him under the law, our client has peacefully surrendered the following firearms through his duly authorized representative, at Mandaluyong Police Station, the nearest police station to his residence,” Villareal said.
The firearms surrendered included a Colt rifle (5.56 caliber), a Glock 9mm, a Sig Sauer 9mm, a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber, and a Battle Arms Development (BAD) 9mm pistol.
However, Ang’s .260 caliber Model rifle was not among the surrendered firearms, as it was reportedly lost in October 2025.
Villareal submitted an affidavit of loss and a police blotter report to formally document the missing firearm.
“In view of the foregoing, we respectfully request that this matter be duly noted for record purposes and considered as closed, our client having faithfully and fully complied with the directives contained in the Order, subject only to the firearm that was previously reported lost and duly supported by an Affidavit of Loss,” Villareal added.
The lawyer further emphasized that the incident should not be used as a basis for any “malicious, arbitrary, or unwarranted application for the issuance of a search warrant,” noting that Ang has acted in good faith, fully cooperated with authorities, and substantially complied with all lawful requirements under the revocation order.
Authorities earlier offered a P10-million reward for information leading to Ang’s arrest as the manhunt continues.
He remains the only suspect at large in connection with the case involving missing cockfighting figures, with all his co-accused already in police custody.
