The Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Capas, Tarlac issued a warrant of arrest against dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo on Thursday, September 5.
The RTC Branch 109 directed Guo’s arrest for the alleged violation of Section 3(e) and (h) of the Republic Act (RA) 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act as amended. The bail for her release is fixed at Php90,000 each for violation of Section 3(e) and (h).
According to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo, investigation results pointed to Guo using her mayoral position to favor Philippine Offshore and Gaming Operator (POGO) operations in Bamban. She furthered that the licenses, permit, and other privileges were acquired through her connections.
“Nagsampa immediately after investigation, no less than the DILG, sa pangunguna ni Benhur Abalos, iyong ating Secretary for Interior and Local Government, ay nagsampa sila ng violation ng 3019 or yung Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices ng public officials,” PNP Spokesperson Fajardo said.
Authorities are also looking at the new developments since the court has already issued an arrest warrant against the dismissed Bamban mayor.
Guo currently faces three other criminal complaints before the Department of Justice (DOJ), all related to her involvement with POGOs.
They are expected to leave Indonesia at around 7:00 PM on Thursday and will be arriving at the Royal Star Aviation Hangar in Pasay City later this evening.
