On April 22, House Speaker Martin Romualdez posted his message for Filipino muslims who are celebrating Eid al-Fitr saying that the diversity is a ‘potent moving force towards nation-building’.

Romualdez started off his message by extending his warm greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters and joining them as they celebrate the holiest month in the Islamic faith, Eid’l Fitr.

“May you and your families be blessed with good health, happiness, and prosperity. May peace reign over your hearts and your households. And may the blessings of life be upon you and your loved ones.” Romualdez said.

He noted that the recognition and respect for diversity in religious beliefs are enshrined in the Constitution.

Romualdez added that no matter the faith or religion, the country marches towards progress as a nation, as Filipinos united under one flag.

“We view this diversity not as an obstacle to development, but rather as a potent moving force for all of us to contribute to nation-building in our own way, according to our respective religious beliefs.” Romualdez said.

The House Speaker ended his message by once again greeting all Muslim brothers and sisters, and a happy Eid’l Fitr.
