Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) and a senatorial candidate, called on Tuesday for a manual vote recount, citing alleged anomalies and irregularities in the electoral process.

Based on the latest partial and unofficial results, Quiboloy is currently in 31st place in the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) tally.

Speaking on behalf of Quiboloy, his spokesperson Atty. Israelito Torreon conveyed their sincere thanks to the millions of Filipinos who supported his senatorial bid.

"Your trust and belief in his message of truth, justice, and accountability have been truly moving. Indeed, no injustice can stop a people awakened and united in faith and conviction," said Torreon.

Nevertheless, he reaffirmed that the fight is far from over after the elections.

"With numerous reports of overvoting anomalies, inconsistencies in ballot readings, and other electoral irregularities, Pastor Quiboloy calls for a manual recount of the senatorial votes," he added.

However, Torreon clarified that the call is not a rejection of the country's democratic process, but rather a plea to strengthen it.

The spokesperson further noted that their camp is determined to seek justice and will utilize every legal means to safeguard the integrity of the votes.

Quiboloy is being detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City, and is facing charges related to child and sexual abuse, along with human trafficking, in both Philippine and U.S. courts.
