President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday said he has picked former Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo Jr. as his Special Assistant to the President (SAP).
In a press conference with selected media outlets, Marcos said it would be an "easy position" for Lagdameo since they have worked together in the past.
“We’ve asked Cong Anton Lagdameo to fill in that position. It’s very sensitive and very important in the sense that we have known each other, since he was a child,” Marcos said.
“He knows me very well. He has been with us, working with me for the past 10 years. It should be an easy position for him to pick up,” he added.
In the same presser, Marcos also announced the appointment of SMC Tollways CEO Manny Bonoan and former University of the Philippines president Alfredo Pascual to join his administration's Cabinet as chiefs of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), respectively.
He also named Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Benjamin Diokno as the next Department of Finance (DOF) chief. Diokno will be replaced by Felipe Medalla as the BSP gov.
