The suspect in the brutal murder of seven bakery workers in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City has surrendered to authorities Tuesday afternoon.
DZRH confirmed with Rizal Provincial Police Director PCOL Felipe Maraggun that the suspect of the bloody crime has turned himself over to authorities.
The suspect first went to the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters at Camp Crame, fearing the victims’ relatives would swarm and attack him.
In an interview, alias “Bogart” claimed he killed the victims only because he overheard their plans to kill him first, asserting that he had simply acted in self-defense. He said he was targeted when the bakery employees learned he was married to one of the establishment’s owners.
Among the dead was a business associate.
Maraggun said police are investigating the truth of the suspect’s claim that he was alone in committing the crime.
