Filipino K-drama fans can now look forward to revisiting all the best parts of the acclaimed drama It's Okay Not to be Okay as it gets a Filipino rendition.
Big names Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino are the adaptation's main cast. Curtis shared in a press conference for the project that she had been eager to take on the role.
"Hindi naman ako mag-aaccept ng isang project (I wouldn’t accept a project) if I didn’t feel it was worth leaving my family for a little bit to shoot," Curtis said. "When they offered it to me it was an instant yes because I loved the original and I couldn’t let it pass."
Additionally, Curtis wrote on Instagram that the drama was one of her favorites and that she had immediately fallen in love with the characters.
"It’s Okay to Not be Okay has been a favourite of mine since I first watched it. I instantly fell in love with the characters and it’s way of educating and raising awareness on different mental health issues," the caption on her reel reads.

The original South Korean drama revolves around a budding relationship between orphaned caretaker Moon Gang-tae, who is employed at a psychiatric ward, and Ko Mun-yeong, a famous children's book author with antisocial personality disorder.
Curtis will act the role of Mun-yeong in the Filipino retelling, wherein the character has been renamed Emilia "Mia" Hernandez.
The actress also expressed excitement at the prospect of working with Joshua Garcia for the first time, and reuniting with Carlo Aquino. The two actors will be portraying the Moon brothers, who now go by the local surname Gonzales.
Aquino said he liked roles that would test his limits as an actor. To prepare for such challenging roles, all three will undergo individual and group immersions.
Garcia, meanwhile, admitted to feeling pressured, as emotional preparedness would be necessary in deftly handling a role in a story which deals with a sensitive topic.
