Many passengers are now confident in riding a motorcycle taxi (MC Taxi), as Angkas made its advocacy a leading exemplary example.
According to WR Numero's survey, 48 percent of Filipino participants recognize the Angkas brand, while 45 percent now use habal-habal as a form of transportation.
About 14 percent reported being regular Angkas users, while 11 percent said they ride two to four times a week.
The survey also showed that 58 percent of Filipinos said they "agree with or strongly support" legalizing habal-habal.
About 78 percent of Filipinos said that there should be an advocate or promoter in Congress to regularize MC taxis in the Philippines.
It was in 2016 when Angkas started operating under the leadership of co-founder and CEO George Royeca, where it prioritized safety training for riders.
According to Royeca, the safety of passengers is the main priority of the company. And continue to confirm that it has been a good example for other MCs.
Angkas has a safety record of 99.997 percent. This also became the basis for the formation of a technical working group (TWG) for the pilot study.
Due to Royeca's dedication to advocacy, passengers' trust in the former habal-habal continues to increase. It is a strong leadership role for MCs nationwide.
