Netflix dropped the teaser for the limited series “Ripley” starring Andrew Scott based on the bestselling Tom Ripley novels by Patricia Highsmith.

The one-minute teaser centers on the evasive grifter Tom Ripley’s name as it rolls off the characters’ tongues, while the video shows his travel from 1960s New York to Italy for an assignment involving a wealthy man’s son.

“He’s hired by a wealthy industrialist to travel to Italy to try to convince the man’s dilettante son, Dickie Greenleaf, to return home. Accepting the job is Tom’s first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder,” the series' logline reads.

Joining Scott in “Ripley” are Johnny Flynn and Dakota Fanning.

The eight-episode limited series will premiere on the streaming platform on April 4.
