New couple alert!
Actor-basketball player Ricci Rivero gets actress Andrea Brillantes to say "yes" after helping his team UP Fighting Maroons beat the FEU Tamaraws during their UAAP game at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, April 9.
In a video posted on social media, Rivero was seen taking the microphone in the announcer's area and asking Brillantes to be his girlfriend.
The 19-year-old actress, who was in the bleachers, then gave her answer by grabbing a shirt with the word “yes” printed on it, to which the 23-year-old basketball player replied “I love you” before heading out the court.
"First time kong manood ng UAAP di ko inaasahang mag kaka-boyfriend pa ako. Grabe naman yun Lord!" she said, adding the date “04.09.22.”
Meanwhile, Rivero, in a tweet, proudly said he got two wins that day.
“GOT TWO WINS TODAY! #UPFight TAKEN [check emoji],” he said.
The new couple was first embroiled in controversy after the two were reportedly spotted together in a restaurant in Taguig.
Brillantes was also seen wearing a UP Fighting Maroons jersey with the number 25, which also happens to be Rivero’s jersey number.
